Senior fellows

Richard Bankowitz, MD

Chief medical officer at Premier, Inc.

As chief medical officer, Dr. Richard Bankowitz engages physicians, provides thought leadership and ensures value is delivered to Premier’s clinician constituency. Dr. Bankowitz received his bachelor’s degree from Union College and is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

 

Joseph F. Damore, FACHE

Vice president, engagement and delivery, Premier Performance Partners at Premier, Inc.

As vice president of engagement and delivery, Joe Damore is responsible for helping nonprofit hospitals, physicians and health systems develop and implement accountable care organizations. Damore received his bachelor’s degree from Thiel College and master’s degree in health administration from the Ohio State University.

 

Danielle Lloyd, MPH

Vice president for policy development and analysis at Premier, Inc.

As vice president for policy development and analysis, Danielle Lloyd leads Premier’s policy analysis and development, which includes developing comments on federal legislative and regulatory proposals, creating hospital-specific impact tools for member hospitals, educating members of recent changes, and research around the alignment of financial incentives to improve healthcare quality and reduce costs. Lloyd received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

 

Les Meredith

Senior vice president, law department, Premier Insurance Management Services

As senior vice president of the law department at Premier Insurance Management Services, Inc. (PIMS), Les Meredith oversees legal functions, as well as claims management, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Meredith’s performance improvement team designs quality collaboratives for PIMS and the American Excess Insurance Exchange, RRG, an excess professional liability insurance company managed by PIMS, including the five-year Premier Perinatal Safety Initiative and the three-year Emergency Department Safety Initiative. Meredith earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Indiana University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude.

 

Gina Pugliese, RN, MS

Vice president, Premier Safety Institute®

Gina Pugliese is currently the vice president of the Premier Safety Institute, and holds adjunct faculty appointments at the University of Illinois School of Public Health, Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Rush University College of Nursing. Pugliese is also senior associate editor of Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology.

 

Carolyn Scott, RN, M.Ed, MHA

Service line vice president, quality and safety, Premier Performance Partners at Premier, Inc.

As service line vice president, Carolyn Scott oversees the strategic direction, planning and execution of the healthcare quality and safety efforts. Scott received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas El Paso, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Texas Christian University, a dual master’s degree in secondary and higher education from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.

 

Leslie Schultz, RN, BSN, MS, NEA-BC, PHD, CPHQ

Clinical consultant, Premier Safety Institute®

Leslie Schultz is a nationally recognized expert in documenting and sharing reliable evidence-based best practices among hospitals. She is board certified in healthcare quality (CPHQ) and as a Nurse-Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC) and served on the NQF Steering Committee for the Framework for Reporting of Healthcare Acquired Conditions project. Schultz received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Alfred University, a master’s degree in nursing administration from State University of New York at Buffalo and a PhD in hospital and health administration from the University of Iowa.

Monica Barrington, RPh, MPH, FASCP

Vice president, engagement and delivery, Premier Performance Partners at Premier, Inc.

As vice president of engagement and delivery, Monica Barrington facilitates CMS’ Partnership for Patients program for the Premier Hospital Engagement Network. Barrington received her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

 

Elyse Pegler, MPH

Director, Premier Performance Partners at Premier, Inc.

A director of Medicare and Medicaid programs, Elyse Pegler develops and implements innovative Medicare policy and programs. Pegler received her bachelor’s degree in policy analysis from Cornell University and her Master of Public Health degree in health policy from George Washington University.

 

Ashley Perry, MPH, CPH

Senior performance partner, Premier Performance Partners at Premier, Inc.

As a senior performance partner, Ashley Perry specializes in enhancing hospitals’ and health systems’ accountable care capabilities, with a focus on population health management. Perry received her bachelor’s degree in economics and a certificate in health policy from Duke University and her Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University.

 

Alejandro Reti, MD, MBA

Senior director of product portfolio strategy for population health at Premier, Inc.

As senior director of product portfolio strategy for population health, Alejandro Reti manages product and growth initiatives in population health analytics and management of the risk-bearing accountable care organization. Reti received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Amherst College and his doctor of medicine and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Yale University.
